The Plan, Part I

So, after a lot of prayer, thought, and more prayer, there is a plan. Or at least some ideas.

I will find a part time, flexible job. I've applied at the public library system, looking into the public schools and maybe break down and go to Lowes.

I am also going to start my own business, in custom sewing. Don't have a witty name yet. No alterations, unless I really like you or I'm desperate. With my experience in theatrical and historical costuming, a few advanced sewing and pattern drafting courses, and a bit of design consulting, that's a decent platform. I have 90% of the materials to get started, and it's something I want to do.

The biggest challenge is faith. I do think this is where God wants me. Everyone I have told this plan to (including Dan) has reacted positively. I just need faith and peace to make it work. Last night both kitties curled up on the bed, using my ankles for pillows. They completely stretched out and dozed off. They knew no one would hurt them, knew that they would be warm and fed. They have faith, they do no worry.

"Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air they do no sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are YOU not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
Matthew 6:25-27

Really, Matthew 5-8 is a blueprint for living. This is how Jesus lived, he just said it so the words would be recorded and today we know. The highlighted passage is the keystone to me. Many of the sins we commit are out of worry what others will think, or worry over where next month's rent will come from. (See 6:19-24 about storing up treasures in heaven.)

So, unless I hear otherwise, this is the plan. Now comes the real test, do I trust my Father to provide for me?
